Pull rates & rarity tiers
Every rarity in PackRip: Cards with the live tuning odds. The same numbers are surfaced one tap from any in-app purchase, in compliance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 3.1.1 — including the new foil variant rates and pity thresholds.
The nine tiers, plus a God Pack
| Tier | Pull rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Common · Uncommon · Rare | filler | Three filler tiers that fill the early slots in any pack. Holo-free, but solid for set completion. |
| Holo Rare | ~28% | The first true foil-treatment tier. Where the rip starts to feel worth it. |
| Holo EX | ~16.7% | Reserved for the featured chase card of each set (~1 in 6 packs). |
| Rare Secret | ~5% | Set-specific secret variants tied to the flagship card. |
| Shining | ~2% | High-contrast metallic finish. |
| Gold Star | ~2.8% | Top tier of the standard holo set — star treatment. |
| Crystal | ~1% | Translucent prismatic shimmer. The rarest base pull. |
| God Pack | ~1 in 500 | Not purchased — randomly rolled in free packs. All eleven cards are Holo Rare. |
Foil variants
Every pulled card has an independent foil roll after rarity is decided. Foils live in a separate collection slot, have a brighter shimmer and animated rainbow border, and sell for 5× the base price. They never replace your normal pull — they're a layered bonus chance on top of it.
| Rarity | Foil chance per card |
|---|---|
| Common · Uncommon | 1% |
| Rare | 1.5% |
| Holo Rare | 2% |
| Holo EX | 3% |
| Rare Secret · Shining · Crystal · Gold Star | 5% |
Pity guarantees
PackRip tracks how many packs you've opened without pulling each rarity. Cross the threshold for a given rarity and the next pack force-rolls it. The live counter is visible in the in-app Pull Rates sheet ("Pity — Guaranteed Pulls"), so you always know how close you are.
| Rarity | Guaranteed after |
|---|---|
| Holo Rare | 20 packs without one |
| Holo EX | 50 packs |
| Rare Secret | 80 packs |
| Shining · Gold Star | 150 packs |
| Crystal | 200 packs |
Pity is purely protective — it never reduces your odds and never costs anything extra. A god pack also resets the Holo / Holo EX / Rare Secret counters as a bonus, since it satisfies those tiers.
Hunt pack injection rates
Hunt packs let you target a specific missing card. The hunt-rate is the chance that a hunt-pack open contains the card you targeted, by rarity:
| Target rarity | Hunt injection rate |
|---|---|
| Common · Uncommon · Rare | 60% |
| Holo Rare | 50% |
| Holo EX | 40% |
| Rare Secret | 30% |
| Shining | 15% |
| Crystal | 10% |
| Gold Star | 8% |
| Energy | 60% |
Premium pack reweighting
Premium packs guarantee one upper-tier slot. There's a 5% chance that guaranteed slot upgrades from Holo to Secret. The remaining slots roll the standard distribution above.
Why disclosure matters
Apple's App Store Review Guideline 3.1.1 requires loot-box-style mechanisms to disclose odds before any purchase. PackRip's Pull Rates & Odds sheet renders this table at runtime and is reachable from every pack purchase screen. Numbers stay in sync with the live config because the sheet reads from the same server-driven values that the pack generator uses — there's no risk of marketing copy diverging from gameplay reality.
What rarity does not do here
- It does not gate gameplay. There are no battles where a Crystal beats a Common.
- It does not gate set completion. Every rarity is reachable on the free track with daily packs and patience.
- It is not tradeable for cash, crypto, or any other transferable asset.
Rarity is exactly what it was when packs came in cardboard: a reason to keep ripping.
